| Shopping; Dolton village is within walking distance (1 mile), and all three pubs provide good food. The village has a butcher and a village shop with an in-house bakery. Bideford and Barnstaple are the two major towns in the area, offering a variety of shops, larger stores, and weekly markets. North Devon has a wealth of Inns, pubs and restaurants serving fine, traditional fare - we're sure you'll want to sample the Devon cream teas and locally made cider! | |||
| Walking; Discover the beauty and true character of Devon's heartland by enjoying some of it's numerous walks. The farm is located between the granite tors of Dartmoor and gently rolling hills of Exmoor, both offering excellent moorland walks amongst breathtaking scenery. Spectacular clifftop walks can be enjoyed on the North coast, and the Tarka Trail, which extends for over 180 miles, passes by the farm. Ham Farm has 100 acres of farmland , with it’s own nature area, conservation pond and a newly planted [2002] 20 acre native deciduous woodland, this leads to the ancient wood with it’s bluebells at the far end of the farm, teeming with wild life from bats and owls to deer and buzzards. | |||
